David Gerard Vermette is a writer and researcher based in Massachusetts. In addition to his writing and research on French North American matters, he was a researcher for The Oxford Guide to Classical Mythology in the Arts (by Dr. Jane Reid, Oxford (U.K.): Oxford University Press, 1993) and an editor of The Triads, Book One (translated by Robin Amis, Chicago: Praxis Institute Press, 2002), by Saint Gregory Palamas (14thCentury), a seminal figure in Orthodox Christian theology. Mr. Vermette also wrote the historical introduction to that volume. He has published numerous articles, white papers, case studies and reports on the subject of the management of Research & Development in Fortune 500 companies and he is the editor-in-chief of the web-based knowledge network FastTrack. He has also worked as a researcher in the Intellectual Property information and Management Consulting fields. He is a trained musician and an experienced public speaker. He holds a B.A. (1986, Philosophy & Mathematics) from Saint John's College, Annapolis, MD and a M.M. (1995, Contemporary Improvisation) from the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA, where he studied with Cecil McBee and Ran Blake and was a teaching assistant in the department of Music History & Musicology. He also participated in two cycles of the Guitar Craft seminars with guitarist Robert Fripp. Mr. Vermette is a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. He is a communicant at Saint Mary Orthodox Church, Cambridge, MA.

Snow Index to Brunswick Newspapers -- My second cousin, Richard Snow, grandson of Marion Vermette, indexed the local Brunswick newspapers, which are available on microfilm at the Curtis Library in Brunswick and at Bowdoin College. This is an indispensable resource for anyone interested in the history of Brunswick and Topsham in the 19th and 20th centuries. My web site would have been virtually impossible without Dick's work.
New England Historic Genealogical Society -- The Society's library on Newbury Street in Boston is arguably the best source for primary and secondary material on New England genealogy. The micro-text room at the library contains a complete set of the Drouin Institute photographs of Parish Registers for all of Québec; the same collection also contains all of the publicly-available Canadian and U.S. Census records. The vast majority of the information on this site was researched there.
